Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and the password you choose (stored as a salted hash — we never see it in plaintext). If you provide a handicap index, we store that too. We do not collect payment information.

When you use the app we store the data you enter: league details, event schedules, RSVPs, tee-time assignments, and scores. We also log standard server-side request metadata (IP address, timestamp, HTTP method and path, response code) for security and debugging.

2. How we use it

• To operate the service — showing you your leagues, events, scores, and tee times.
• To send transactional emails you explicitly trigger (invites, password resets, RSVP confirmations).
• To send push notifications you opt into for live scoring updates.
• To debug errors and maintain the reliability of the platform.

We do not use your data to serve advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. Who can see your data

Other members of a league you belong to can see your name, handicap index, RSVP status, tee-time assignment, and scores for events in that league. League commissioners and admins can additionally manage your membership. No data is visible to members of leagues you have not joined.

We use third-party infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, database, email delivery) that process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. We do not share data with any other third parties.

4. Data retention

Your account and all associated data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you deactivate your account, your profile is marked inactive and you will no longer receive communications. If you would like your data deleted entirely, email us at hello@foreyourleague.com and we will delete it within 30 days.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use browser localStorage to store your authentication token so you stay signed in between sessions. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics scripts.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Authentication tokens are short-lived JWTs. We take reasonable precautions, but no system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.

7. Children

Fore Your League is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify active users by email.
